The Yogi government has a wonderful gift for you this Diwali! The state government has made a significant announcement of free LPG cylinders for approximately 25 million women enrolled in the PM-Ujjwala Yojana. Under the “UP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme,” beneficiaries receive a free filled LPG cylinder twice a year, on Diwali and Holi. This extraordinary benefit will begin to be available to beneficiaries in October, coinciding with Diwali.
What is the Free Gas Cylinder Scheme, and how do you receive the money
This excellent scheme is specifically for women who are already eligible beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This scheme is a powerful tool to ease the financial burden on Ujjwala consumers during the festive season.

Direct Transfer of Subsidy (DBT)
Under this scheme, beneficiaries first purchase the cylinder from the gas agency by paying its full price. Subsequently, the state government transfers the entire subsidy amount to their bank account through a direct transfer (DBT). This means you receive the benefit of the free cylinder through government reimbursement.
E-KYC is mandatory for benefits
To avail the free cylinder, all Ujjwala consumers must fully complete their e-KYC. If your e-KYC is pending, your payment may be delayed, so it is extremely important to complete it immediately.
Simple e-KYC Process
Visit the official website of the Ujjwala Yojana and click on the e-KYC tab. Select your gas company (such as Indane, HP, or Bharat Gas) and follow the instructions. You can also easily complete your e-KYC by visiting your nearest gas agency.
Who are the eligible beneficiaries, and how can they join the scheme

This scheme focuses on improving the health and quality of life of women from poor and disadvantaged families by freeing them from smoke. Women who are not yet enrolled in the PM Ujjwala Yojana must first apply. Under this scheme, eligible women are provided with a free gas connection, stove, regulator, pipe, and first refilled cylinder. Additionally, they receive a subsidy of ₹300 per cylinder for up to nine cylinders annually.
Eligibility Criteria for Benefits
Only women aged 18 years and above can apply.
SC, ST, BPL cardholders, Extremely Backward Classes, and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana are eligible for this scheme.
Women who fall under the 14-point poverty line can also participate in this extraordinary scheme.
