Aadhaar card is now an important part of our lives. It is needed for identity proof and to get benefits from government schemes. If your Aadhaar card is lost or damaged, many important tasks can be affected.
But there is no need to worry. You can order a PVC Aadhaar card online through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the body that issues Aadhaar cards.
A PVC (polyvinyl chloride) card is like a plastic card. You can think of it like a PAN card. Your Aadhaar information is printed on it. Like a PAN card or debit card, it fits easily in your wallet. The card also lasts a long time.
How to Get a PVC Aadhaar Card
- Go to the UIDAI website.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code. Click Send OTP.
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Submit it.
- Click Order Aadhaar PVC Card.
- Your details will show. Click Next.
- Choose payment: credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
- Pay ₹50.
- After payment, your order is done. UIDAI will check your details, print the PVC card in 5 days, and send it via India Post. You will get it at home by speed post.
Aadhaar Card Formats
Aadhaar is in three formats:

- PVC Card
PVC cards made outside UIDAI are not valid. From October 2024, UIDAI will allow reprinting PVC cards. You can also get a new Aadhaar offline by visiting the nearest Aadhaar center.
