If you’re planning to buy a powerful and stylish bike in the 300cc segment, this is a great opportunity. Honda has passed on the benefits of the recently implemented GST 2.0 rates directly to customers. As a result, both the Honda CB300R and CB300F have received significant price reductions. These bikes are now more affordable than before and are giving tough competition to other bikes in their segment. Let’s take a closer look at these two bikes.

Honda CB300R

The price of the Honda CB300R has been reduced by a direct ₹21,000. Originally priced at ₹2.40 lakh, it has now been reduced to ₹2.19 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the CB300R not only becomes cheaper than the Triumph Speed 400 (Rs. 2.50 lakh) and TVS Apache RTR 310 (Rs. 2.21 lakh), but also comes very close to the KTM 250 Duke (Rs. 2.12 lakh).

Previously, the Honda CB300R was launched in India in 2019. It was briefly discontinued when BS6 norms came into effect, but was reintroduced in 2022 with a BS6 version. At that time, its price was ₹2.77 lakh. In 2023, the price was reduced to ₹2.40 lakh due to increased localization. Now, with GST 2.0, it has become the most affordable since its launch.

Honda CB300R Design and Features

Speaking of design and features, the CB300R’s biggest attraction is its neo-retro look. The round LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank, smooth body panels, and minimalist design give it a unique appeal. The bike is powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that produces 31 hp and 27.5 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Modern features like assist and slipper clutch, golden USD forks, traction control, a digital console, and Bluetooth connectivity give it a premium touch.

Honda CB300F

Now let’s talk about the Honda CB300F, which has also received a price cut of ₹15,000. Originally priced at ₹1.70 lakh, it has now been reduced to just ₹1.55 lakh. This makes the CB300F the most affordable bike in its segment. In comparison, the Bajaj Dominar 250 costs ₹1.77 lakh and the Hero Xtreme 250R costs ₹1.66 lakh. This means the CB300F not only excels in style and performance, but is also lighter on the pocket.

Honda CB300F Engine and Features

In terms of engine and features, the Honda CB300F is powered by a 293cc air/oil-cooled engine that produces 24 hp and 25.6 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Most notably, a Flex-Fuel version was also introduced in 2024. This model can also run on E85 fuel (85% ethanol and 15% petrol). Interestingly, its price is the same as the standard version, at ₹1.55 lakh.
