Hyundai has launched the next-generation model of its popular i20 during testing in India. It was first spotted in Europe in August, and now it has been spotted on Indian roads. Despite being heavily camouflaged, it’s clear that the upcoming model will bring significant upgrades to its design and features.

Interior
Inside, the company is preparing to make significant changes. Reports suggest that the new i20 could feature a curved display with dual screens. It’s also expected to feature advanced technologies like a 360-degree camera and an ADAS suite.
This means the new i20 will be significantly upgraded not only in design but also in technology and safety features.

Engine
Additionally, in the global market, the new i20 is likely to be launched with petrol and mild-hybrid petrol engine options. Some reports also suggest that a pure-electric version may also be in development.
In India, Hyundai may retain the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. This means Indian consumers will get the same assurance of performance and efficiency, but with new technology additions.
Design
The size of the new i20 gives it a large hatchback-like appearance. While the complete design remains a mystery as the car was spotted under heavy camouflage during testing, previous spy shots have given us some key glimpses.

While the car is expected to feature new horizontal LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a new grille design and reworked bumpers are also expected at the front. Furthermore, the new i20 could also feature a shark fin antenna, two-tone alloy wheels, and sleeker-looking ORVMs, which will give the car a more premium look.
