Yamaha XSR155 Price
Speaking of pricing, the Yamaha XSR155 is already available for sale in countries like Indonesia and Thailand. In Indonesia, this bike is priced at Rp 39,015,000 OTR Jakarta, which is approximately 2.08 lakh rupees in Indian rupees. Meanwhile, the Yamaha MT-15 is priced at Rp 39,665,000 OTR (approximately 2.12 lakh rupees) in the same market.

This clearly means that the XSR155 is priced slightly lower than the MT-15 in the international market. This is why it is seen as an affordable option for those who prefer Neo-Retro styling.
Positioning of the XSR155 in India
Now, talking about positioning, Yamaha may introduce this bike in a slightly premium segment in the Indian market. This is largely due to the nostalgic popularity of the Yamaha RX100. The XSR155 carries forward that retro DNA and has the potential to appeal to everyone from young riders to seasoned enthusiasts.
GST 2.0 and the Impact on Pricing
The most important factor is GST 2.0, which will come into effect on September 22, 2025. Under this, the tax on bikes up to 350cc will be reduced from 28% to 18%. Yamaha has already clarified that the tax reduction will be fully passed on to customers. This means that the price of the Yamaha MT-15 could be reduced by approximately ₹13,000 to ₹15,000. The base model is expected to cost ₹1.56 lakh, while the top variant is expected to cost around ₹1.66 lakh (ex-showroom).
