New Fitment Factor and Salary Formula
The fitment factor is the coefficient used to convert the previous basic pay to the new basic pay. In the 7th Pay Commission, it was 2.57, but it is expected that in the 8th Pay Commission, it may be close to 1.92. This factor brings the biggest change in your salary.
New Salary Formula:
New Basic Pay = Old Basic Pay x New Fitment Factor
Total Salary = New Basic Pay + HRA + TA + Other Allowances
Net Salary = Total Salary – Deductions (NPS, CGHS, Income Tax)
Note: In this estimated calculation, Dearness Allowance (DA) is considered as 0%, because in the new pay commission, DA is included in the basic salary. This is just an example so that you can estimate your future salary.
