PNB Charges- Major setback for PNB Locker holders. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has changed some service charges for its customers. According to the information released by the bank, these changes will be applicable from October 1, 2025. These include locker rent, stop payment instruction, standing instruction (SI) failure charge and nomination charge.

Stop payment instruction means that if the customer has issued a cheque and wants to stop its payment. Till now PNB charges Rs 100 per instrument for this. Whereas, if instructions are given to stop payment of three or more cheques at once, then Rs 300 is charged. According to the new rule, the charge per instrument will remain the same i.e. Rs 100. But if instructions are given to stop payment of five or more cheques, then a charge of Rs 500 will be levied.

Big change in locker rent

PNB has made a big change in locker rent. The new rates will depend on the size of the locker and the location of the branch. The new rates will be applicable from the due date of the next annual rent.

Small lockers

Rural: Rs 1,000 (no change)

Semi-Urban: Rs 1,500 (earlier Rs 1,250)

Urban/Metro: Rs 2,000 (no change)

Medium Locker

Rural: Rs 2,500 (earlier Rs 2,200)

Semi-urban: Rs 3,000 (earlier Rs 2,500)

Urban/Metro: Rs 4,000 (earlier Rs 3,500)

Large Lockers

Rural: Rs 4,000 (earlier Rs 2,500)

Semi-urban: Rs 5,000 (earlier Rs 3,000)

Urban: Rs 6,500 (earlier Rs 5,500)

Metro: Rs 7,000 (earlier Rs 5,500)

Very Large Lockers

Rural: Rs 6,000 (no change)

Semi-urban: Rs 7,000 (earlier Rs 6,000)

Urban: Rs 8,500 (earlier Rs 8,000)

Metro: Rs 9,000 (earlier Rs 8,000)

Extra Large (E Large) Locker

Rural: Rs 10,000 (no change)

Semi-urban: Rs 10,500 (earlier Rs 10,000)

Urban: Rs 11,000 (earlier Rs 10,000)

Metro: Rs 12,000 (earlier Rs 10,000)

One-time registration charge

A one-time registration charge is also taken while allotting a locker. Till now, it was Rs 200 in rural and semi-urban branches, Rs 500 in urban and metros. Whereas, under the new rules, it is Rs 200 for all sizes in rural and semi-urban branches, Rs 500 for small and medium lockers in urban/metro and Rs 1,000 for large, very large and extra large lockers in urban/metro.
