The new GST slabs will come into effect from 22 September 2025.
The benefit of this will be to the businessman in the form of depositing tax; on the other hand, customers will get it in the form of buying at a lower price. The new rates of GST are now going to be implemented from 22 September. From September 22, old goods kept in the store will also be available to the customers at a lower price. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given this information after the GST Council meeting on Wednesday.
Only 18 per cent GST on these goods
A big change has been made in the 56th meeting of the GST Council. Earlier, 28 per cent GST was imposed on TVs, ACs and dishwashers with screens larger than 32 inches. But it has been reduced to 18%. The benefit of reduced rates is also to be given on monitors, projectors and electric accumulators (non-lithium ion).
Now it is expected that the demand for big screen TVs will also increase due to this decision of the government. Not only this, but people will also show interest in buying ACs. If the government is to be believed, the reduction in GST on dishwashers will increase the ease of living. Educational institutions, offices and digital learning centres are going to benefit from the reduction in the price of items like monitors and projectors. This time, there is a possibility of a boom in the markets on Diwali.
These companies are bringing in sales.
After the reduction in GST, there is a possibility of a boom in the purchase of electric goods on Diwali. Before Delhi, e-commerce companies have also announced sales. Flipkart and Amazon have announced the sale. Both companies have not yet disclosed the date, but both companies are going to give huge discounts on everything from smartphones to refrigerators and fashion to beauty products.
