Free Ration Update: If you are a ration card holder then this news can be special for you. Let us tell you that free ration facility is being provided to the people through the government. The benefit of this facility of the government is being available through ration card. But recently the government has tightened the noose on some ration card holders. After which some ration card holders will not be given the benefit. Let us tell you that now it has become mandatory for ration card holders in Uttar Pradesh to do e-KYC. The administration has taken this strict step to make the public distribution system transparent and accurate. According to the new order, consumers who have not yet done e-KYC will not be given free ration from next month.

Know why will you not get the benefit?
Let us tell you that for the last one year, slowness has been seen in the e-KYC process. Under the verification campaign started in July 2024, till now only 86 percent of the ration cards have been e-KYC. The administration has now taken a strict decision to not give ration for three months to all such cardholders, whose age is more than 18 years and whose e-KYC has not been done.
Children will get relief
However, children below 18 years of age have been exempted from this rule. They will continue to get ration during this period as well. The administration has also clarified that if a beneficiary gets e-KYC done within these three months, then his ration will be restarted. But if e-KYC is not done even after three months, the ration card will be canceled.
How many people will not get the benefit?
Let us tell you that there are a total of 3,52,815 ration cards in Farrukhabad district of UP, out of which 3,14,638 cards are of eligible household and 38,177 are of Antyodaya cards. A total of 14,26,449 beneficiaries are registered on these. Out of these, e-KYC of 1,87,162 consumers has not been done yet. These include 10,027 children, who have got relief from this rule. The ration of the remaining 1,77,135 adults is currently in danger.

They will have to face difficulties
According to the information, District Supply Officer Surendra Yadav said that the biggest problem is coming with migrant laborers and working people, who live outside the district and are not able to get e-KYC done on time. Apart from this, there are also problems in matching the fingerprints of the elderly and children. Along with this, he has appealed to all the eligible people to complete their e-KYC in the next three months so that they do not have to face any problem in getting ration.
