The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has recently taken a big step and asked all driving license holders and vehicle owners to link their mobile numbers through the Aadhaar authentication process. The ministry says that this process is very important to provide citizens with the smooth benefits of online services related to transport and driving licenses.

Aadhaar authentication will make work easier
The government has clarified that the facility of linking a mobile number is completely available online, and people can easily update their information by visiting the Vahan and Sarathi portals. In this process, verification has to be done through Aadhaar so that the information given is completely safe and authenticated.
This step will be helpful in fine recovery
According to the central and state governments, many vehicle owners and drivers avoid paying fines by repeatedly changing their address and mobile number. Now, under the new system, updating the mobile number and address linked to Aadhaar can be made mandatory. With this, people violating the rules can be easily monitored, and the challan information will reach directly to the registered mobile number.
Process to link the mobile number to the RC
Vehicle owners can update their mobile numbers by visiting the parivahan.gov.in website. For this, they have to enter information like vehicle registration number, chassis number, engine number, date of registration, and validity. After this, the process will be completed successfully on completing Aadhaar authentication and the safety code.

Process to link a mobile number to a driving license
Driving license holders can scan the QR code available on the Sarathi portal or enter the information by visiting the relevant page. In this, after filling in the date of birth, state name, and captcha code, Aadhaar authentication will have to be done. After this, on clicking the submit button, the mobile number will be linked to the driving license.
