Under this scheme, the use of solar energy on the roofs of houses is being promoted across the country. Apart from free electricity, subsidy is also being given by the government on this scheme.
The craze of PM Surya Ghar Yojana increased in UP
There is tremendous enthusiasm about this scheme in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the subsidy and free electricity benefits given by the government, people are applying rapidly. The benefit of this scheme will be available only to those families whose annual income is between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh. Government employees and their families are excluded from this. Installing 1 kilowatt solar panel costs around Rs 90,000, up to 2 kilowatts, a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt is given and for more than 3 kilowatts, a subsidy of Rs 78,000 per kilowatt is given.
How to get subsidy money?
The government will transfer the subsidy money directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. This will provide financial relief to the people and reduce the burden of installing solar panels. Not only this, you can also earn money by selling excess electricity to the grid.
Those who apply under the scheme are said to receive the subsidy amount within 7 days. The government is trying to ensure that more and more people take advantage of this scheme.
How to apply?
Interested people can apply by visiting the official website of PM Surya Ghar Yojana pmsuryagarh.gov.in. After filling the online form, the required documents have to be scanned, uploaded and submitted. Information about the electricity distribution company and registration number also has to be given in the application form. After submitting the application form, a receipt of the application is also received.
To apply for PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the applicant needs Aadhar Card, Residence Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificate, Age Certificate, Income Certificate, Ration Card, Mobile Number, Electricity Connection Certificate and Passport Size Photo. By March 10, 2025, 10 lakh houses have been connected to solar energy under this scheme. So far, subsidy of Rs 4,770 crore has been given to 6.13 lakh people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme on 13 February 2024. The government aims to install solar panels on the roofs of 1 crore houses by the year 2027, which will increase the use of green energy in the country.
