The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will meet on August 19 to pick the squad for Asia Cup 2025. In this meeting, the future of many players will be decided, but only 15 will get a place in the tournament. These 15 players will also be the main options for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Just before the meeting, India’s number one fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah gave an update on his availability to the selectors and the BCCI. Bumrah was last seen on the England tour, where he played only three Tests due to workload.

Bumrah Ready for Asia Cup

Bumrah has already told the selectors that he wants to play in the tournament. Because of this, his place in the team is almost certain.

According to The Indian Express, a source said, “Bumrah has informed the selectors that he will be available for the Asia Cup selection. The selection committee will meet next week and discuss it.”

Jasprit Bumrah last played a T20I in June 2024 against South Africa. It was the T20 World Cup 2024 final, where India defeated South Africa in a close match. Since then, Bumrah has not played any T20I. Now he can be seen in action directly in the Asia Cup.
