The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given great relief to its members. The process of linking Aadhaar with Universal Account Number (UAN) and correcting personal information has been made simpler than ever. The main objective of these new rules is to make PF services fast, convenient, and hassle-free. Especially in cases related to minor beneficiaries, claims can now be settled immediately without any unnecessary paperwork. This step is another important initiative towards Digital India.
Aadhaar link without any hassle
If the name, gender, and date of birth information recorded in your Aadhaar and UAN match completely, then members will no longer need to seek separate approval from EPFO. Now you can directly contact your employer. Employers will be able to complete the process of Aadhaar linking through the e-KYC facility available on their portal. The delay before this change will now be eliminated, and your work will be done in a jiffy.
Wrong information will now be easily corrected
If there is a mismatch in your Aadhaar and UAN information or a wrong Aadhaar number has been linked by mistake, then you do not need to worry. The process of the Joint Declaration (JD) has also been simplified a lot. Now, employers will be able to correct mistakes like name, gender, or date of birth only through an online JD request.
If your employer is not available or the company has closed down, then also do not panic. Members can get their information corrected by submitting a verified form at the PRO counter. However, it is important to note that changes in Aadhaar details that have already been verified will not be allowed.
Minor children will also get the benefit without hassle
EPFO has also made the claim process very easy for the minor children of the deceased member. Now the Guardianship Certificate will not be required for payment. This is a huge change, which will avoid legal hassles. The payment will be deposited directly into the bank account of the children. For this, PRO officers have been instructed to help minors open accounts.
Link Aadhaar-UAN instantly from mobile
You can also easily link Aadhaar to UAN from your mobile using the Umang app. Follow the easy steps given below:
Open the Umang app on your mobile and log in with the help of MPIN or OTP.
Go to the “Services” tab and select the option of “EPFO”.
Select the “e-KYC Services” option inside “EPFO”.
Now click on “Aadhaar Seeding”.
Enter your UAN and fill in the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
Fill in your Aadhaar details and verify them with the OTP received on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
After successful verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN.
