Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance claims for the Rabi season 2024 have been sent to the accounts of the farmers of the district. After assessing the damage caused to mustard and wheat crops, a total amount of Rs 41 lakh 76 thousand 202 was transferred directly to the bank accounts of 1170 farmers. This financial help has provided relief to those farmers whose crops were affected due to a natural disaster.

Agriculture Department gave information

In a program organized at Krishi Bhawan, Deputy Agriculture Director RN Singh informed the farmers that crop insurance proves to be a strong safety shield for farmers in case of natural disasters. He said that every farmer must get crop insurance done on time so that they do not have to suffer financial loss in the hour of disaster.

The last dates of the insurance company have been announced

District Coordinator of Insurance Company Rajendra Bhati informed the farmers about the last dates for getting insurance for the Kharif season. The last date for insurance for non-loan farmers is 14 August, while for loan-taking farmers, this date has been fixed as 31 August. In Kharif crops, millet and paddy can be insured.

Details of the premium and the insured amount

The insured amount of millet has been fixed at Rs 60 thousand 400 per hectare, and the insured amount of paddy has been fixed at Rs 93 thousand 600 per hectare. The farmer will have to pay only a 2 percent premium and the rest will be borne by the government.

Help given to affected farmers

Insurance amount has been given to different farmers on the basis of loss in mustard and wheat crops. Farmer Balram Singh of Samho got Rs 79 thousand 842, Vinita of Bholi village got Rs 75 thousand 264, and Sampat Devi of Palikhurd got Rs 66 thousand 528. Similarly, on the loss of wheat crop, an insurance amount of Rs 53 thousand 156 was issued to Nand Kumar of Patiyat village and Rs 43 thousand 400 to Balram Singh of Samho.

Documents required for insurance

To get insurance under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the farmer must provide a bank passbook, an Aadhar card, a land ownership form, a sharecropping certificate, verification of crop sowing, and a mobile number.
