Know what answer the government gave
Regarding this message, the government made it clear on Tuesday that there is no plan to stop the supply of 500 Rupee notes. This means that 500 Rupee notes will continue to come out from ATM along with 100 and 200 Rupee notes. Regarding this, Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary has informed that the decision of printing and circulation of notes is taken by the RBI. But it takes advice from the government. So that there is no problem.
At the same time, the RBI had issued a circular on 28 April 2025, in which it was ensured that 100 and 200 rupee notes also come out regularly from their ATMs. This does not mean that 500 notes will not be issued.
When will the new system be implemented?
The government informed that by 30 September 2025, about 75 percent of ATMs will have 100 to 200 rupee notes from at least one slot. After this, from 31 March 2026, this system will be applicable in 90 percent of ATMs. But the purpose of this entire system is not to discontinue 500 rupee notes. Rather, it is to make small notes more accessible.

Fake message going viral on social media
