Today, a PAN card is a very important document. Many financial transactions are done with it. If you do not have a PAN card, you cannot file tax returns. It gives a 10-digit number, which identifies you. This number reveals your tax-related information. Documents required to get a PAN card

PAN Card

Two different forms are filled out to get a PAN card. In this, one form is for Indian citizens and the other is for non-resident Indians. Indian citizens can apply for a PAN card with the help of Form 49A. On the other hand, those who are not residents of India need Form 49AA. You will get both these forms from the website of the Income Tax Department, NSDL, and UTIITSL.

Documents required for an identity card

While making a PAN card, documents like Aadhar card, voter ID card, driving license, passport, ration card with photo, arms license, applicant’s photo pensioner card, Central Government Health Service Scheme card, etc., have to be submitted for identification. Only one of these documents has to be submitted.

Apart from this, photo identity cards issued by the Central Government, State Government, or Public Sector Undertaking are also valid for making a PAN card. The original copy of the applicant’s identity certificate signed by a Member of Parliament or a Member of Legislative Assembly, or a Municipal Councilor, or a Gazetted Officer is also valid for an identity certificate.

Documents required for the residential address

While making a PAN card, for residential address, you can submit documents like Aadhar card, voter ID, driving license, passport, spouse’s passport, post office passbook containing applicant’s address, latest property tax assessment order, domicile certificate issued by the government, housing allotment certificate issued by the central or state government (not more than three years old), property registration documents etc. Any one of these has to be submitted.

Apart from this, a photocopy of the electricity bill, landline telephone or broadband connection bill, water connection bill, LPG gas connection card or book or pipe gas bill, bank account statement or deposit account statement, photocopy of credit card statement, etc., can be submitted as documents.

At the same time, the original copy of the applicant’s residence certificate signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly, or Municipal Councilor, or Gazetted Officer can also be submitted as a document.

Documents required for minors

If the applicant is below 18 years of age, then documents of parents or guardians can be submitted for both identity and residence.
