Indian Railways has launched a new scheme to give relief to passengers from the crowd and make ticket booking easier. Now you will be able to book round-trip tickets at discounted rates under the ‘Round Trip Package’. This scheme is especially for those who book both tickets in advance. This facility will not only make your journey easier, but will also put less burden on your pocket. Let us know about this new scheme in detail.
Railways will give a great discount of 20%

Under this scheme, if a passenger books a round trip, i.e., a round trip in the same group, then he will get a discount of 20% on the basic fare of the return journey. To avail this discount, both the tickets should be in the same class and of the same origin-destination (O-D) pair. Please note that no refund will be given on tickets booked under this scheme.
When can you book
This scheme is being started as an experiment from August 14.
Travel dates:- Tickets can be booked for travel between 13 October 2025 and 26 October 2025.
Return journey:- Tickets for the return journey can be booked for train travel between 17 November and 1 December 2025.
The special thing is that the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) will not be applicable for the return journey, which will make it even easier for passengers to book.
This scheme will apply to these trains

This scheme will be applicable in all categories and special trains (trains running on demand), except trains with flexi fare. Only confirmed tickets will be valid in this scheme. Along with this, any other discount, rail travel coupon, pass, or voucher cannot be used on these tickets.
Method of booking and purpose of railways
Passengers will be able to book both tickets through online medium or from the counter of the reservation office, but both tickets have to be booked through the same medium. Railways has started this scheme with the aim of better management of seats during festivals and to provide passengers with the facility of booking both tickets together. This will not only provide financial benefits to the passengers but will also help the Railways in controlling the crowd and making the operations smooth.
