Kisan Credit Card Yojana: Farmers are the backbone of the economy in the country. The central government is running many schemes with the aim of increasing the income of farmers and making farming self-reliant. One of the major schemes is the Kisan Credit Card Yojana (KCC), which helps farmers to get loans at very low interest rates. If you are a farmer, then money is falling short for many needs ranging from fertilizers, seeds, machinery for agriculture, then here in this scheme of the government, you can get a loan in the credit card scheme in many banks from State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India.

Loan at 4% interest rate in the KCC scheme

Under this scheme, farmers are being given a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh, which takes several years to repay. If farmers repay the loan on time, then the government provides a 2 per cent interest subsidy and a 3 per cent timely payment bonus; in such a situation, farmers get a loan at only a 4% interest rate, which can prove to be very beneficial for the farmers.

Eligibility for Kisan Credit Card

Certain eligibility conditions have been kept for the Kisan Credit Card Scheme, according to which a KCC loan is given to eligible farmers.

Small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural labourers can also apply for a KCC loan.

Farmers associated with animal husbandry, fisheries, dairy, silk farming and horticulture can also take loans.

How to apply online for a KCC loan

There are two types of applications available for getting a loan under the scheme, either by visiting the bank or now farmers can apply for KCC online from home. The application process is as follows:

  • Go to the official website of your bank
  • Click on the Kisan Credit Card option on the homepage
  • Now click on “Online Application”.
  • Fill all the required details (like name, address, Aadhaar number, farming information, etc.)
  • Upload documents and click on the Submit button
  • You will get an Application Reference Number, which should be saved

After you apply here, the bank officials will check the application, so that on confirmation of eligibility, the bank will contact you within 5 working days. KCC will be made and given to you.
