Indian Railways Scheme – Good news for railway passengers. Whenever festivals come across the country, heavy crowds are seen at almost every railway station. People have to travel thousands of kilometers standing. For this crowd and safe travel, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given a big gift. According to this, if you book tickets for both coming and going together, then you will be given a discount of 20 percent. Regarding this, the Railway Ministry has started a “Round Trip Package”.

To avoid heavy rush in trains and rush for tickets during the festival season, Indian Railways has started a new scheme. Its name is Round Trip Package for Festival Rush. The aim of this scheme is to divide the crowd on different days by giving tickets to passengers for both the trips at cheaper rates so that the journey can be comfortable and convenient.

Who will get the benefit of this scheme?

According to the Railways, under this scheme, if a passenger books both the tickets for the return journey together, then a discount of 20% will be given on the base fare of the return journey. The discount will be available only to those passengers who book the return and return tickets with the same name and details. Both tickets should be of the same class and same station pair (OD Pair). Return ticket: Should be for travel between 13 October to 26 October 2025. While the return ticket should be for travel between 17 November to 1 December 2025.

What things need to be kept in mind?

According to this new scheme, the return ticket will have to be booked first and then the return ticket will be booked using the connecting journey feature. The advance reservation period (ARP) rule will not be applicable while booking the return ticket. The condition is that the tickets on both sides should be confirmed only. No modifications can be made in the ticket. There will be no refund facility. No other discount, voucher, pass, PTO or rail travel coupon will be applicable while booking the return ticket.

This scheme is applicable in all classes and all trains, including special trains (Trains on Demand). This facility will not be available in trains with Flexi Fare. Both tickets will have to be booked through the same medium – either online or from the reservation counter. If there is any difference in the fare at the time of chart preparation, no extra money will be charged from the passengers.

What is the reason behind this scheme?

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav believes that this offer will divide the passenger crowd on different dates during the festival season. Special trains will be used properly on both sides and passengers will be able to get tickets easily. Railways has given instructions to do extensive publicity for this through press, media and announcements at stations.
