R15 has ruled the segment of entry-level sports bikes in India ever since its launch. And now latest Yamaha R15 V4 has made its entry with some updates in 2025. However, the question remains – whether it’s a good bike for the youth who seek performance, looks, and value?
The crudest thing about the R15 V4 is carried over from its design, which is inspired by large superbikes like the R1 from Yamaha. The sharp LED headlamp, aerodynamic fairing, and sleek tail section make it one of the best-looking bikes on Indian roads. It grabs attention instantly – whether parked or on the move. In 2025, Yamaha has added new color options and minor graphic changes to keep it fresh.
Although the body is carried, it still retains that test-proven 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). Finally, it would produce around 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm of torque, which gives a strong performance, particularly in the mid and top range. Fuel consumption of around 40-45 km/l, even decently high for a performance bike, is worthy of note.
