Along with this, online PAN verification will work to make everything easier in one place. This will make the processes related to PAN and TAN easier, and the service will be better. Along with this, the complaints related to PAN will also be resolved soon.
Know what PAN 2.0 is?
Last year, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had approved this project worth Rs 1435 crore. At present, services related to PAN are available on three different platforms, such as the e-filing portal, UTIITSL portal and Protian e-Gov portal. Through PAN 2.0, all services will be visible on a single portal.
With this, users will be able to get all the facilities easily in one place. The new system will be all digital. This means that from making a PAN card to making changes in it, everything is going to be digital. The most important thing is that all the work will be done online and for free. E-PAN is to be shared on the person’s email ID. This will also reduce the hassle over time.
What is necessary for PAN holders to do?
For information, let us tell you that PAN is a 10-digit alpha-numeric number. The Income Tax Department provides it to taxpayers. Similarly, TAN is also a 10-digit number that people get. Along with this, they are also responsible for deducting or depositing tax.
There are more than 81.24 crore PAN holders and more than 73 lakh TAN holders across the country. The good news is that existing PAN holders are required to get a new PAN under PAN 2.0. Your old PAN card will work.
