Upcoming SUVs Launches: With the festive season of Diwali 2025 around the corner, Indian car buyers can expect a lineup of new SUV launches. Major auto players such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and Renault are gearing up for the launch of their new models in October, capitalizing on the festive season rush. The new launches will introduce new designs, upgraded features, and new choices for Indian SUV enthusiasts.

Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors will facelift its top-selling model, the Punch, in 2025. The new model has been seen doing test runs and is expected to hit before Diwali. It is likely to take design inspiration from the Punch EV and have a contemporary interior. It will carry over the current 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine with both manual and AMT transmissions. This facelift will enable Tata to keep the Punch alive in the saturated compact SUV segment.

New-Gen Hyundai Venue

Hyundai is expected to launch the next-generation Venue in October 2025. The SUV has undergone testing multiple times and will receive a complete design makeover. The outside will be influenced by bigger Hyundai models such as the Creta and Palisade. Inside, the Venue will be loaded with features and Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety. It will retain the existing petrol and diesel units, which will come with manual and automatic transmissions.

Maruti Escudo

Maruti’s all-new SUV, the Escudo, is scheduled for launch on September 3, 2025. This model will be sold via Arena dealerships and sit at the top of Maruti’s Arena line-up. The Escudo will share its base and engines with the Grand Vitara and will offer rich features to take on rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. A Toyota version of this SUV is also expected, positioned just above the Taisor.

Renault Kiger 2025

Renault India is working on bringing a new Kiger SUV with a new design and features, after recently unveiling the updated Triber. The new Kiger will probably be available for purchase in October and has already been spotted undergoing tests. It will carry forward the existing engine options — 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol — along with 5-speed manual, AMT, and CVT transmission options.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra plans to introduce the all-electric XUV 3XO soon. The EV has been seen with very light camouflage, which has exposed its new design. It will be equipped with a 35 kWh battery and will be placed below the XUV 4OO. The new XUV 3XO EV will cater to customers seeking a cheaper electric SUV and will go up directly against the Tata Nexon EV.
