FD Rates Change- Public sector Indian Bank has once again shocked its customers. The interest rates of fixed deposits (Bank FD) have been cut. The new rates have been implemented. Some tenures of less than Rs 3 crore will now get even lower returns than before. This also includes special FD schemes.
Let us tell you that the bank had revised the interest rates in July as well. After the revision, a minimum of 2.80% and a maximum of 6.70% interest is being given on maturity slabs ranging from 7 days to more than 5 years. Earlier, the maximum interest rate was 6.90 percent. Right now the bank is offering 0.50% additional interest to senior citizens.
From August 1, the bank is offering 6.50% interest instead of 6.60% to general citizens on FDs of more than one year and less than 2 years. Apart from this, customers will get 20 bps less return on two special FD schemes “Ind Secure Product” and “Ind Green Product”. This change will also be applicable for senior citizens.
How much interest is being received on special FD?
Currently, the bank is offering Ind Secure FD scheme. Customers can avail the benefits of this scheme till 30 September 2025. Under this scheme, 6.70% interest is being given on a tenure of 444 days, which was earlier 6.90%. At the same time, the interest rate for senior citizens is 7.20% and for super senior citizens it is 7.45%. In this, an investment of Rs 1,000 to less than Rs 3 crore can be made.
New interest rates have also been implemented for the Ind Green FD scheme. Under this scheme, general citizens are getting 6.60% interest on a tenure of 555 days. The interest rate for senior citizens is 7.10% and for super senior citizens it is 7.35%.

7 days to 14 days – 2.80%
15 days to 45 days- 2.80%
46 days to 90 days – 3.25%
91 days to 120 days – 3.50%
121 days to 180 days – 3.85%
181 days to less than 9 months – 4.50%
9 months to less than 1 year – 4.75%
1 Year- 6.10%
Above 1 year and less than 2 years – 6.50%
444 days- 6.60%
2 years to less than 3 years – 6.40%
Above 3 years and less than 5 years – 6.25%
5 years-6%
Above 5 years- 6%
