Ration Card Cancelled- Big news for Ration Card holders. Strict action has been initiated against those who misuse the red and yellow ration cards under the Food Security Act in Baghmara block of Dhanbad district. Four wheeler owners and those having more than 2.50 acres of land will no longer get the benefit of ration under this scheme.
A total of 23271 cards have been cancelled from the district. Such beneficiaries have been identified through Aadhaar card and have been excluded from the scheme. The government can also impose a fine on such people after August.
Ration cards of these people were cancelled
Having a red/yellow card but have not been collecting ration for several months.
Having a four-wheeler, more than 2.50 acres of land, refrigerator, AC, or licensed weapon.
There should be members in the family who hold government jobs.
Those with annual income more than Rs 2 lakh in rural areas and Rs 3 lakh in urban areas.
E-KYC exposed the truth
After linking ration cards to Aadhaar under e-KYC, ineligible beneficiaries were identified. After e-KYC, details of account, land, and purchases were obtained through new software. During Aadhaar seeding, all the members of the cardholder and his family were checked, which identified income tax payers and those taking benefits of other schemes. On the instructions of the government, a list of ineligible beneficiaries has been prepared. Now the ration allocation of August 2025 has been reduced and new allocation has been given to the shopkeepers, which is expected to provide great relief to the government treasury.
