A new affordable bike is all set to launch soon in India. It’s not just about price — this upcoming model also comes with modern design and features. Honda’s latest offering aims directly at popular bikes like the Hero Splendor, HF Deluxe, and Bajaj Platina. With an expected price under ₹75,000, this new bike could become a game changer in the entry-level segment.
Shine 100 DX
Honda is launching its new commuter bike Shine 100 DX on August 1, and the price will be revealed on the same day. The Shine 100 DX is positioned as a premium version of the existing Shine 100. It is expected to cost slightly more than the base model, which is currently priced at ₹68,862 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Despite being budget-friendly, the DX version will come with several upgraded features and fresh styling.
Stylish Design and Features
Honda Shine 100 DX gets a refreshed look with new body graphics and chrome accents on the headlight, handlebar, gear lever, and exhaust cover. It will be available in four color options: Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Geny Grey Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.
The standout feature is the new LCD digital display. It shows important details like real-time mileage, distance-to-empty, and also supports side-stand engine cut-off, adding convenience and safety to everyday riding.
Engine and Performance
Powering the Shine 100 DX is a 98.98cc air-cooled engine. This engine delivers 7.38PS at 7,500rpm and 8.04Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. It is paired with a 4-speed gearbox, offering smooth performance for city commutes. The bike is built on a diamond-type frame and features telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable twin shock rear suspension, ensuring a comfortable ride on various road conditions.
Braking and Dimensions
For safety, the Shine 100 DX uses 130mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes, supported by Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS). The bike runs on 17-inch wheels with 2.75-inch front and 3-inch rear tubeless tyres for better grip. It offers 168mm ground clearance, a seat height of 786mm, and weighs only 103kg, making it ideal for riders of all heights. The fuel tank has a capacity of 10 litres, providing good range for daily use.
