If you are planning to visit the beautiful valleys of Kashmir but were unable to do so due to a lack of direct means of transport, then now you should prepare. Till now, the train does not run directly, and the flight fare is very high, but now all this is going to change. Indian Railways is preparing on a war footing to increase the movement of trains in the valley.
Train operations have started between Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar in June. However, only one Vande Bharat train is running right now, but Indian Railways is going to increase the number of trains here soon. Work is going on day and night for this, so that your Kashmir trip can become easy and convenient.
Railways are increasing the capacity of tracks

To increase the movement of trains in the valley, it is necessary to first increase the capacity of the tracks. For this purpose, the Railways have started working day and night. According to the Ministry of Railways, Tamping and Ballast Cleaning Machines (BCM) have been deployed to provide safe and convenient travel to the passengers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Tamping machines
These machines fill rock chips under the tracks to ensure proper alignment and stability of the rail tracks. These machines are filling stone chips under the railway track in the valley, so that the tracks can be strengthened.
Use of modern machines
Two additional Ballast Cleaning Machines (BCM) have also been installed to further improve the tracks.
Importance of Ballast:- Ballast, which is stone chips deposited on the tracks, provides support to the railway track.
Cleaning and Screening:- These machines are working in tandem and have done deep screening of about 11.5 km of tracks so far.
Quality Assessment:- Track Recording Car (TRC) and Oscillation Monitoring System (OMS) runs have also been conducted to assess the quality of the tracks. These modern technologies ensure that the tracks are completely safe and ready for operation.
Huge supply of ballast to strengthen tracks

To complete the tamping and deep screening work, 17 ballast rakes have been dispatched and unloaded from the ballast depots located at Kathua, Qazigund, Madhopur, and Jind on the railway route of Kashmir Valley. This huge amount of ballast will ensure that the tracks get adequate support and can handle the increased number of trains in the coming time.
AI technology will be used for safe operation
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will also be used here to ensure the safe operation of trains. In this regard, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had already said that AI will be used to detect defects on the track. This modern technology will take safety standards even higher and will help in identifying any potential problem in time.
