Realme GT 8 Series: Realme is said to be making a fundamental change in its flagship phone launch strategy. Rather than launching the devices in phases, the company now plans to launch both Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro simultaneously. As per a new leak, both phones are said to launch together in October 2025.

Simultaneous Launch Marks a Strategic Shift

This is a significant divergence from Realme’s previous strategy. Previously, the GT line had a split release schedule the Realme GT 7 Pro launched in November 2024, whereas the vanilla GT 7 didn’t show up until May 2025. Not only did this divide the product shine, but it also emphasized drastic hardware differences.

Closing the Performance Gap

Whereas last year’s GT 7 Pro was blessed with the high-powered Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the standard GT 7 had to make do with the less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400e. Realme seems to be doing the right thing this time, however. Both the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro are said to be packing Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) chip, which is supposed to deliver best-in-class performance in every regard.

Powerful Hardware Expected

The leak suggests enormous upgrades to both devices, such as advancements in display tech, periscope zoom functionality, and battery capacity. These upgrades might make the GT 8 series a top contender in the Android flagship market, competing against peers like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13 Pro.

GT 8 Pro to Offer 2K OLED Screen and Huge Battery

Between the two, the GT 8 Pro is currently hogging the limelight. It is rumored to pack a flat 6.85-inch 2K OLED panel, drawn from Samsung, and treated with an AR anti-glare coating just like we find on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Under the skin, a huge 7,000mAh+ battery will drive the phone, encapsulated within a durable metal middle frame. The phone is also rumored to have blazing-fast 100W charging speeds.

200MP Periscope Camera May Be a Game-Changer

Optics-wise, the GT 8 Pro may steal the limelight with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. This is said to be Samsung’s HP9, which might also feature on the Oppo Find X9 Pro. If true, this would give the GT 8 Pro a strong leg up when it comes to mobile photography.

Regular GT 8 Remains Shrouded in Mystery

Information on the vanilla Realme GT 8 is still thin on the ground, but hopes are running high. With the Pro model already touted as a potential flagship killer, the base model should also offer decent performance and value for money. The leaks should be coming more frequently in the next few weeks as the launch approaches.
