If you have taken a policy from the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), paying its premium has now become easier. LIC has started a new facility. You can now pay your premium from your mobile at home through WhatsApp.
There is good news for crores of LIC policyholders. LIC has launched a ‘WhatsApp Bot’ service. Now, you don’t need to go anywhere to pay the premium. Registered users can pay their LIC premium through WhatsApp number 8976862090. You can pay using UPI, net banking, or a card. The receipt and payment confirmation will also be received in WhatsApp itself. This new service started in May.
How to Pay LIC Premium Through WhatsApp
- First, save LIC’s WhatsApp number 8976862090 in your mobile phone.
- Then, open WhatsApp and send “Hi” to this number.
- LIC will send a list of options. From the list, choose the option for premium payment.
- Now, enter your policy number and other required details.
- Choose your payment method (credit card, debit card, UPI, or net banking).
- Once you make the payment, you will receive a receipt in WhatsApp. You can save it for future use.

To use this facility, you must first register on LIC’s official website — https://licindia.in.
After registration, link your policy to your account.
