On July 23, popular leaker @UniverseIce posted on X and stated, “It is 100% confirmed that Samsung S26 Ultra will surpass the charging power of 45! ” Although he did not reveal the wattage, earlier leaks suggested 65W rapid charging. That would reduce full charge time from approximately 60 minutes to 45 or less for the S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh cell. For perspective, the Galaxy S25 Ultra takes around an hour to fully charge with its 45W charger.

Conservative Approach to Charging Technology

Samsung’s restraint in the charging division goes all the way back to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, when batteries caused huge recalls. Since then, the company has played it slow-and-steady, not engaging in the flash-fast-charging rhetoric that Chinese rivals such as Xiaomi or Realme have been employing. Even with this future update, Samsung is likely to remain committed to the USB PD PPS (Programmable Power Supply) standard instead of proprietary implementations.

Official Chargers Might Still Be Necessary
