A new FASTag toll pass is going to be launched in the country soon. From August 15, you can get a one-year pass for ₹3000. To get this pass, e-KYC is compulsory. Without e-KYC, your FASTag will not work. Also, if your FASTag balance is in minus, make sure to recharge it. You can complete e-KYC either online or by visiting your bank.
Now, less than a month is left. The ₹3000 annual FASTag toll pass will start from August 15. As you may already know, with this ₹3000 pass, you don’t have to pay toll charges for up to 200 trips in a year.
We have already shared how to apply for this FASTag toll pass. The new update is that under the latest toll policy, doing e-KYC is necessary to get this annual pass.
Update e-KYC Before 15 August or FASTag Will Stop Working
A new FASTag toll pass of ₹3000 will start from 15 August. To use this pass, you must complete e-KYC. Without e-KYC, your FASTag will not work. Even if you recharge it, it will not be accepted at toll plazas.
If your FASTag balance is in the minus, you must recharge it first. Many people think that the new toll pass is different, so no need to recharge. But that is wrong. If the balance is negative, the ₹3000 toll pass will not be added to your FASTag.
FASTags May Get Blacklisted
If you don’t update e-KYC, your FASTag can be blacklisted. Even if you start your journey, your FASTag may not work at toll booths. Many FASTags are already in a minus balance. If dues are not cleared on time, they will be blacklisted soon.
₹3000 Toll Pass is a Smart Choice for Regular Travellers
This new toll pass is useful for people who travel often. For ₹3000, you can travel up to 200 times in a year without paying toll fees. For example, if you travel to places like Rishikesh, this amount can be used up in just 5 trips. So, the pass is very helpful for regular drivers.
How to Do e-KYC for FASTag
Doing e-KYC is easy. You can do it online through the website or mobile app of the bank that gave you the FASTag. Go to the KYC section, upload your Aadhaar card, vehicle RC, and other ID proofs. After this, you will get an OTP on your mobile or may need to take a live photo. Once verified, your e-KYC will be complete.
If you cannot do it online, you can also visit your bank branch with your documents. They will help you complete the KYC process.
Example: e-KYC with Axis Bank
If your FASTag is from Axis Bank, first go to the Axis Bank website or app. Then, go to the FASTag section and select the KYC update option. Upload your documents and verify with the OTP received on your mobile. After submitting, your KYC will be updated.
How to Check FASTag Status
To check if your FASTag is active, go to the NPCI website. Look for the NETC FASTag section and click on “Check Your FASTag Status.” Enter your vehicle number or FASTag number, fill in the captcha, and click on check status. You will see the full details of your FASTag.
Where the ₹3000 Pass Will Work
This toll pass will only be valid on National Highways and NHAI toll plazas. It will not work on toll plazas under state governments. On those tolls, you will still have to pay from your regular FASTag balance.
