A new machine is in the making, and it might be the most powerful Royal Enfield yet. With aggressive performance and latest technology, this new electric bike can be anticipated to disrupt the market.
Most Powerful Royal Enfield
The Himalayan Electric, or HIM-e for short, will be Royal Enfield’s most powerful bike. It will feature a 14 kWh battery pack, well ahead of other electric bikes in its category, as per reports. The electric motor will churn out about 100 hp, a first from any Royal Enfield model. This will ensure that the bike can comfortably breach a top speed of 120 kmph, making it not only powerful but also speedy.
Impressive Range and Modes
Although it’s yet to undergo tests, preliminary reports indicate that the Himalayan Electric will have a range of 200 to 250 km on full charge. This provides riders with sufficient distance for daily city commutes as well as weekend outings. Power delivery can also be customized using four distinct ride modes: Zen, Off-Road, Tour, and Rally. The modes permit the rider to toggle between comfort and performance based on the situation, providing additional flexibility to each ride.
Design Based on ICE Model
From the design perspective, this bike will look similar to the 450cc ICE version of the Himalayan. But to accommodate the electric setup, its cycle components will be modified. The frame, suspension, and design could be altered slightly, but the fundamental adventure-inspired design is bound to remain intact. The electric variant will also likely receive more contemporary features to complement its sophisticated powertrain.
Electric Vision for the Future
The new addition is Royal Enfield’s serious foray into the EV category. Though still in testing, the Himalayan Electric indicates the brand has been preparing for the future. With a big battery, strong motor, and decent range, it already has high expectations.
