There is useful news for the pensioners of Bihar. Recently, the Nitish Kumar government increased the pension amount for the elderly, widows, and disabled people. The pension amount has been raised from ₹400 to ₹1100. The government had said that all pensioners will get the increased amount from July.
Now, pensioners are waiting for the higher pension. It is expected that the increased pension amount will start reaching the accounts of beneficiaries from 10–11 July. This change will benefit 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 people.
Let us tell you that the Bihar government runs the Vridhajan Pension Yojana for the elderly, the Divyangjan Pension Yojana for disabled people, and the Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme for women.
Increased Pension Amount May Be Sent on July 11
It is expected that the increased old age pension amount will be sent to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on July 11 through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). On July 11, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be on a visit to Patna and will take part in a program. On this occasion, special programs will be held at district, block, and panchayat headquarters. These programs will also be shown live on TV.
Government Employees Will Get Pension Within 30 Days
Government employees of Bihar will now get all pension-related documents within 30 days of retirement, and their monthly pension will also be given on time. For this, the state government and the Accountant General’s office are working together. They are studying the system of other states to prepare a new model. After the new rule is applied, manual paperwork for pension will stop. The whole process will be done online, so that there is no delay in giving pensions.
