Its high-tech interior feels more like a smart living room than a vehicle, and its exterior combines sleek curves with aggressive pixel lights to stand out on congested roads. Preliminary chatter out of China suggests an innovator that will redefine range and comfort expectations.

Elexio is the latest from Beijing Hyundai, a company that is a joint venture between Hyundai and BAIC. Unveiled in May 2025, the SUV is similar in size to Tucson but powered solely by batteries. There are two versions in the works: a single‑motor front-wheel drive and a dual‑motor all‑wheel‑drive variant.
Range and Battery
Hyundai quotes a CLTC range of 700 km for Elexio. Under WLTP regulations that reduces to around 570 km, yet actual driving should return between 500 km and 550 km on a single charge. Such a distance places Elexio among the longest-running electric SUVs on the market today.
Interior Design
Step inside and a massive panoramic touchscreen sweeps across the dashboard. Nearly everything shifts to this screen, with only steering-wheel buttons remaining as physical inputs. Underneath the screen is a projection display that provides additional information without cluttering. Wide windows and a panoramic sunroof pour light into the cabin, making it seem open and airy.
Exterior Style
Smooth, curvaceous panels contribute to aerodynamics and give Elexio a streamlined stance. Pixel‑finish lighting is of full width at each extremity, and square wheel arches contain aero‑tuned alloy wheels. Flush door handles, blacked‑out pillars, and a roof spoiler complete the sophisticated look, and large “E L E X I O” lettering adorns the tailgate.
Powertrain Options
Built on Hyundai’s advanced 800‑volt E‑GMP platform, Elexio supports fast charging and high efficiency. The single‑motor version produces 160 kW (218 PS). Dual‑motor models add a 73 kW rear unit for a combined 233 kW (317 PS), bringing all‑wheel grip and stronger acceleration.
