The governments of different states of the country run many types of schemes for the people of their respective states, which directly benefit millions of people. Especially the state governments come up with more schemes for the poor and needy people of their state. Elections are to be held in Bihar this year, and in such a situation, the Nitish Kumar Government has announced to start of a big scheme for the people of the state just before the elections. Under this scheme, the government will help in the marriage of daughters of all the poor and needy families of the state. Let us know which scheme is this and what benefit will the people of Bihar get from it.
The government will provide the facility of ‘Vivah Mandap’ for marriage
Many families in our society do not have the facility to book a marriage hall for their daughter’s wedding or say that they do not have enough money. Such people are forced to marry their daughters in their homes or a limited space. But now people living in Bihar will not have to face this problem.

The Bihar government has announced to start of the ‘Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana‘. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself gave this information on his official social media handle ‘X’. The government will construct marriage halls for the marriage of daughters of poor families, where poor families will be able to get their daughters married free of cost. This is a revolutionary step that will reduce the financial burden on poor families.
A grand ‘marriage hall’ will be built in every Panchayat
The Bihar government will construct a marriage hall in every Panchayat of the state under the ‘Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana’. The government has also approved a huge amount of ₹ 40 billion 26 crore 50 lakh for this scheme. In every Panchayat of the state, the government will build a marriage hall for the marriage of daughters of poor families.
According to Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, marriage halls will be constructed in each of the 8,053-gram panchayats of the state at a cost of ₹50 lakh. These marriage halls will be operated by Jeevika Didis, which is also a big step towards women’s empowerment. The construction of these marriage halls at the panchayat level will greatly benefit economically weaker families.
The government has said that launching this scheme that the scheme will benefit poor families the most who do not have any venue or adequate resources to get married. Now they will be able to get married in these marriage halls without paying any money. This scheme will also help in preventing social evils like child marriage and the dowry system, as it will allow families to marry their daughters respectably.
