Tata Power: Big relief for common people. Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a unit of Tata Power and India’s largest rooftop solar provider, has launched India’s most affordable residential solar solution in Odisha. This initiative has been launched under the company’s ‘Ghar-Ghar Solar’ campaign. The focus of this campaign is to make clean energy accessible to the common people.

The company gave this information According to a Fortune India report, the company said in its statement that this is the first such initiative that will accelerate the adoption of residential rooftop solar in Odisha. Under this, customers will have to pay only one-third of the total cost, making it easier and cheaper to bring solar energy to homes. This initiative by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited comes at a time when India is stepping up efforts to promote rooftop solar, especially in backward regions.

The company has also provided better financing options with the price of a 1 kW solar system starting at just Rs 2,499, making it easy and affordable for the general public to adopt solar power.

The program is also being boosted by government subsidies. Homes in Odisha can get a combined subsidy of up to ₹1.38 lakh from the central and state governments on a 3 kW system, reducing the initial cost of installation by about 40%.

Apart from this, the Government of India also provides central subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 to households under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, while the Government of Odisha also provides additional assistance of up to Rs 60,000 on the largest domestic systems.
