Tata Nexon EV: Tata Motors is revamping customer confidence in India’s EV sector. As demand for electric vehicles rocketed, the company introduced a bountiful new perk: a lifetime warranty on some electric models. The step is meant to do away with long-term worries for customers and enhance confidence in Tata’s EV range.

What Lifetime Warranty Means

Tata’s lifetime warranty promotion is no mere jargon. In practical terms, “lifetime” translates as 15 years from the initial registration of the car at the nearest RTO office. The promotion is valid for both Tata Nexon EV (45 kWh variant) and the recently announced Tata Curvv EV. Remarkably, even current owners of these cars are eligible for the new warranty.

Eligibility and Conditions

But Tata’s lifetime warranty has certain conditions attached to it. The advantage is reserved for 45 kWh Nexon EV owners only. The lifetime warranty will no longer be valid after the first change in ownership. Instead, the cover reduces to 8 years or 1,60,000 km for the Nexon EV 45 as well as Curvv EV.

The vehicle has to be registered in the name of a private individual. If the EV is sold or registered to a third party, then the warranty gets void. During the period of ownership, the car should have an active and continuous IRA.ev connection, which is one of the most important conditions for the warranty to be valid.

Rules of Service and Maintenance

Servicing has to be carried out according to the norms of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. The car has to be serviced exclusively at authorized Tata.EV service stations. Furthermore, the battery should not indicate any sign of defects or performances failure for the warranty to remain valid.

Also, owners should notify the company of their ownership through the signature process during the first registration. To make things clear, it is recommended to visit the nearest dealership.

Tata Curvv EV Highlights

The Tata Curvv EV will be introduced with two battery variants. The first will have a 45 kWh battery with an estimated driving range of as high as 502 km on full charge. The second will have a bigger 55 kWh battery that will last up to 585 km on a charge.

The car comes in five different shades of colors. The price begins at ₹17.49 lakh for the lowest variant and extends to ₹22.24 lakh for the highest variant (ex-showroom). With this, Tata is not just guaranteeing performance but peace of mind as well.
