iPhone 16 Pro Max vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: If you are thinking of buying an ultra-premium phone in 2025, then two names come at the top – Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both the phones are flagships in their own right, and both the companies have come up with the most powerful specifications ever. But the question is, what do you get after spending Rs 1.3 lakh from your pocket, and which phone is more powerful?
Performance
The iPhone 16 Pro Max has Apple’s new A18 Pro chipset, which is built on 3nm technology. Its performance is excellent, and the top speed of 4.05GHz makes it a speed machine. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is Qualcomm’s most powerful chip till date and gives speeds up to 4.47GHz. Galaxy seems to have a slight edge in gaming, multitasking and heavy tasks, especially due to 12GB RAM and Adreno 830 GPU.
Display
In terms of display, both the phones are competitive. Both have a 6.9-inch screen, but Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2x display comes with 1440×3120 QHD+ resolution, while the iPhone has a Super Retina XDR display, which has a slightly lower resolution i.e. 1320×2868 FHD+. Samsung has won in brightness, as it gets a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits, which is great outdoors.
Camera
Talking about the camera, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a triple camera setup consisting of two 48MP sensors and a 12MP telephoto lens. Apple has no answer in video recording – features like ProRes, Action Mode, Dolby Vision give you a pro level experience. At the same time, the Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with four camera lenses including a 200MP primary camera. Samsung is way ahead in photo details, zoom, and wide shots, especially with the 50MP telephoto lens with 10x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom.
Battery and storage
The Galaxy is once again ahead in battery. It has a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, and also gets 25W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4685mAh battery that supports 20W wired and 25W wireless charging, but Apple’s charging speed is considered slightly slower. Still, iOS is better in battery optimization.
Both phones are almost equal in storage and networking. Both get internal storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB, but Apple has NVMe storage while Samsung has UFS 4.0. Samsung’s storage is slightly faster, especially in large file movement or high-speed games.
security and software updates
Talking about security and software updates, Samsung is now giving competition to iPhone. Galaxy S25 Ultra gets OS and security updates for 7 years, while iPhone 16 Pro Max will get support for 5 years. Samsung has made One UI even cleaner and smoother, while iOS 18 is known for its simple and stable experience.
Price
Now it comes to the price. The price of iPhone 16 Pro Max starts from ₹ 1,34,900, while Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra starts from ₹ 1,17,999. If you are fond of camera and raw photography, along with wanting a polished user experience, then iPhone 16 Pro Max can be the best choice. On the other hand, if you give importance to gaming, battery life and more powerful hardware, then Galaxy S25 Ultra is a value for money deal.
