Last date to apply for PMAY now extended till 2025
The last date to apply under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has now been extended till December 2025. This relief is for both urban and rural beneficiaries. Who can become a PMAY beneficiary
PMAY – Urban
People who do not have their own pucca house and whose annual income is within the limits given below can avail the benefits of this scheme:
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Annual income up to ₹3 lakh
Low Income Group (LIG): Annual income ₹3 lakh to ₹6 lakh
Middle Income Group-I (MIG-I): Annual income ₹6 lakh to ₹9 lakh
Slum dwellers: People living in urban slums
PMAY – Rural
Under the rural scheme, those families are eligible whose name is included in the SECC data. People who do not have a house or who have only one or two kutcha rooms. Weaker sections such as SC/ST, homeless, Brahmins, tribal groups, former bonded labourers fall under this category.
Who will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme
People who have a concrete house will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. Apart from this, those who have a two-wheeler, three-wheeler or four-wheeler will also be ineligible. Also, those who have machinery or agricultural equipment, those who pay income tax or do professional business, those who have a refrigerator, landline phone or large land will also be out of the scope of this scheme.
Who will get the benefit of this scheme
In urban areas: Daily wage earners, handcart pullers, hawkers, factory workers, migrant workers, widowed women, SC/ST/OBC, and non-working class people can become beneficiaries of this scheme.
In rural areas: SC/ST, homeless, tribal, destitute, and extremely poor families are included.
How to apply online
For PMAY – Urban:
- Visit the PMAY-U website.
- Click on ‘Apply for PMAY-U 2.0’.
- Read the instructions and proceed.
- Enter Aadhaar number and verify with OTP.
- Fill out the application form and upload documents.
- Submit the form and take a printout.
For PMAY – Rural:

- Visit the PMAY-G website.
- Fill in your name and details.
- Click on ‘Search’.
- Select your entry and click on ‘Select to Register’.
- Fill in your bank and other details.
- The rest of the process will be done by the concerned officer.

For PMAY-Rural:
