Xiaomi 16 Series : Xiaomi has postponed its new Xiaomi 16 series later in the year, but, as happened previously last time, the Pro variant will not be coming to India. The same is the case in the case of Xiaomi 15 series as well. The same happened here as well and Xiaomi has postponed the Pro variant solely for China.
IMEI Database Confirms It
As per reports, Xiaomi 16 Pro was already present in the IMEI database with two reserved China-only model numbers. No trace of any Indian variant or global variant. So no doubt that it won’t come in India this time again.
General users will be pleased as it will also come in India.
But the icing on the cake is, the Xiaomi 16 itself will also go on sale in India. The phone will have some seriously awesome specs such as latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2), ginormous 6,800mAh battery, and 100W fast charging support. It all makes it a seriously powerful and cool Indian phone.
Xiaomi 16 Pro Features Stunning Specs
There were a few waiting for Xiaomi 16 Pro because of its high-end spec. It is said to have 6.85-inch LTPO OLED display, 2K screen, and 120Hz of refresh rate. Indian users will not be getting it officially, though. One will even need to import from China if the situation absolutely demands it, which is not always feasible or affordable.
Same Strategy as Before
Yes, Xiaomi does have a strategy. It’s aiming for global market availability of base and possibly Ultra models but reserving Pro models for China only. Perhaps there may be some correlation with the manufacturing cost, product demand in the market, or its strategy.
So, if you have to purchase Xiaomi 16 Pro in India, sorry to disappoint. But plain vanilla Xiaomi 16 is very well armed. We will wait and observe and watch how it does once it officially becomes available.
