Design and Build: Svelte and Ergonomic
The Poco C71 itself weighs just 193g and measures 8.26mm thick, so it is straightforward to hold in your hand all day. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is positioned well and a bit responsive for a little additional security. It has no water resistance or IP rating, of course, but that is not surprising at this price, but good to note.
Display: Fast Refresh Rate on Large Screen
The phone has a 6.88-inch IPS screen with 720 x 1640 pixels and 260 ppi density. Although the resolution isn’t quite so ideal as it can be, the 120Hz refresh and 240Hz touch sampling are a welcome relief. It is powered by a maximum brightness of 600 nits and an adaptive HD+ screen for sufficient outdoor readability to make it usable daily.
Performance: Simple But Functional
Equipped with the Unisoc T7250 processor and octa-core chip running at 1.8GHz, the Poco C71 performs daily tasks easily, such as browsing and using social media without hanging excessively. It comes with 4GB RAM and 4GB of virtual RAM, in addition to 64GB of internal storage space available, expandable up to a maximum of 2TB using a specific card slot. It is adequate in performance for everyday users, but not designed with extreme use in consideration, like gaming or multitasking.
Camera: Regular Specification for Everyday Usage
The Poco C71, on the camera front, has a dual rear setup with a 32MP main camera. It can record video at 1080p at 30fps. The front camera is an 8MP one, which is sufficient for selfies and video calls in the daytime. Camera performance is mid-range, as one would expect in this category.
Battery: High Capacity, Slow Charging
The phone has a 5200mAh battery, which is no problem to get through the whole day with normal use. Charging is up to 15W fast charging, which is slow by today’s standards, but is an acceptable compromise for such a large battery, given the price.
Connectivity and Extras: The Basics Are Covered
Connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi, and USB-C v2.0. But no FM radio or water resistance. They are missing, which will be no deal-breakers but worth mentioning.
Verdict: Fantastic Display and Battery, But Only Mid-Packet Elsewhere
Poco C71 excels with its gargantuan 120Hz display and satisfactory battery life. It’s best suited for a user who wants a budget phone to use for light usage, such as calling, social media, and streaming. But since as average in cameras and lacks too much processing power, it’s not best suited for power users or gamers. For the price point, it gives just enough for budgetary needs.
