In India, people may know Kia only for SUVs and MPVs, but globally, Kia is famous as a company that makes affordable luxury cars. Now, Kia is going to launch its first global electric sedan car, Kia EV4. The biggest thing is that this great car can spoil the game of big electric car companies like Tesla and BYD. Kia presented its amazing electric sedan car, Kia EV4, to the world for the first time at the New York International Auto Show. So, let’s know its amazing features.

Heart-stealing design

Kia’s EV4 car has been built on the company’s advanced 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). On this platform, the company has also built successful cars like EV6 and EV9.

The company has given this sedan a sporty and futuristic look. Its rear has vertical taillights, which give it a distinct identity. The roof design of the car has a split roof spoiler, while its bumper has been made quite sleek. This design is based on the company’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. That’s why, while the bumper nose is kept low, the roofline is extended at the rear, giving it a coupe-like silhouette.

This great car will come with 17-inch aero wheels. The company can also offer the option of 19-inch wheels, which will further enhance its sporty look. Talking about the interior, the car has a 30-inch widescreen display, which includes a 12.3-inch dual screen and a 5-inch climate control display, which makes infotainment and car control easy for both driver and passenger.

Powerful performance

Kia EV4 will get two battery options. The 58.3 kWh battery pack will give a range of up to 378 km, which is sufficient for city and long-distance trips. At the same time, the large 81.4 kWh battery pack will give an impressive range of up to 531 km on a single charge, so that long-distance journeys can be done without any worry. This is a front-wheel drive car and has a powerful 150 kW motor, which gives it excellent performance.

Talking about fast charging, the EV4 with a small battery gets charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 29 minutes with DC fast charging. At the same time, with a larger battery pack, this time increases slightly to 31 minutes, which is a very fast charging speed for an electric car.

Tesla and BYD’s reign will end

Till now, big companies like Tesla and BYD have dominated the global market in terms of electric sedan cars. At the same time, Tata Motors’ Tigor is also an electric sedan car in a big market like India. In such a situation, Kia’s already strong hold in India can create problems for companies like BYD and Tesla in this segment with the arrival of EV4. The Kia EV4 is expected to be priced between ₹ 15 to ₹ 20 lakh, making it an attractive and affordable electric sedan, especially for customers looking for a stylish and feature-loaded electric vehicle.
