Bank Holiday for Eid : Prior to the start of each month, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI ) publishes a list of bank holidays. In addition to Sundays, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as on certain special occasions.

For instance, the public holiday for Eid is listed for March 30; however, since Eid may actually fall on March 31, many locations will observe the holiday on that date.
Employees will not have a day off on March 31
Regarding bank operations, employees will not have a day off on March 31. They are required to report to work on this date. The Reserve Bank of India has officially revoked the Eid holiday for Monday, March 31, as stated in a circular issued by the RBI. This circular specifies that all banks will remain operational on March 31 to facilitate government transaction processes. While banks will be open on this date, customer banking services will not be available.
Banking transactions starting April 2, 2025
Customers will be able to conduct banking transactions starting April 2, 2025. It is important to note that banking services will also be unavailable on April 1, 2025, although some states in India will observe a bank holiday on that day. Specifically, banks that operate on March 31 will be closed on April 1 due to the end of the financial year.
No holiday for Eid, but holiday will be observed on April 1
Consequently, there will be no Eid holiday for banks, but a holiday will be observed on April 1. However, in certain states, including Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal, banks will remain open on April 1, allowing residents to access banking services.
