Haryana News: Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij said that Ambala Cantonment Railway Station will be developed on the lines of the airport and the station will be redesigned in different phases at a cost of Rs 300 crore. In this regard, he instructed the railway officials to take full care that the passengers get maximum facilities at the station.

He also gave his suggestions to develop the railway station as a modern station. Vij was presiding over the review meeting of officials of various departments regarding the development works going on in Ambala Cantonment. In the meeting, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij discussed with the officials of different departments about the development works related to their departments. He expressed displeasure over the delay in some works and directed to complete these works soon.

Giving information about the development of the station as a modern station by the railway officials present in the review meeting, Energy Minister Anil Vij said that the station will be redesigned in different phases at a cost of Rs 300 crore.

There is a provision of Rs 100 crore

There is a provision of Rs 100 crore budget in the first phase and the station will be redesigned with the target of the year 2060, which includes expansion and widening of platforms at the station, increasing the number of lifts at the station, improvement in parking arrangements, improvement in the way to and from the railway station and other works.

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij also discussed other projects related to railways, including Machhounda railway over bridge, freight terminal and other development works. At the same time, Minister Anil Vij expressed displeasure over the non-arrival of DRM in the meeting.

Instructions given for fancy lights and plantation on GT Road

During the meeting, Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij instructed the NHAI officials to install fancy lights on GT Road from Railway Station Ambala Cantonment to Tangri River as well as plant excellent plants on the divider. He said that an international level martyr’s memorial is being built on GT Road in memory of the martyrs of 1857 and the service lane should be improved around it besides GT Road so that the drivers do not face any problem in commuting.

Instructions given for cleaning drains

During the review meeting, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij instructed the officials of the Irrigation Department and Municipal Council to clean the main drains. He instructed to clean Maheshnagar Drain, Gudgudia Drain and widen Gudgudia Drain outside the urban area. He instructed the Irrigation Department to check the entire working system at Maheshnagar Pump House before the rains.

He said that it should be ensured that during the rainy season, water from the pump house goes properly into the Tangri River. He also directed to connect Maheshnagar Pump House to hotline for better power supply. Similarly, he directed the Nagar Parishad to clean all storm water pipe lines with jet pressure machine before monsoon.
