EPFO Update: If you are an EPFO member, then there is good news for you. EPFO has made the process of updating members’ profiles easier. Now, members whose UAN (Universal Account Number) is already linked to Aadhaar can update their profile details themselves without uploading any document.

What information can be updated now

Under the new rules, EPFO members can easily update important information like their name, date of birth, gender, nationality, parents’ name, marital status, spouse’s name, joining date, and date of leaving the job. However, members whose UAN was issued before 1 October 2017 will still have to get approval from their employer to update the information.

Why did EPFO make this change

EPFO says that it is very important to enter the correct information of the members so that any kind of wrong or fraudulent transaction can be avoided. Earlier, to modify the profile, one needed to upload documents and get the approval of the employer, but now this process has been made faster and easier.
