Free Sauchalay Yojna: Even today, the problem of open defecation persists in many rural and backward areas of our country. This spreads many serious diseases and there is a lack of cleanliness. To eliminate this problem and promote cleanliness, the government has started the Free Toilet Scheme. Under this scheme, poor and needy families are given a financial aid of Rs 12,000. So that they can build toilets in their homes. If you do not have a toilet in your house yet, then this scheme can be very beneficial for you.

The government is giving 12 thousand rupees to build a toilet

The government has started the second phase of this scheme i.e. Toilet Scheme 2.0. People who did not get the benefit of this scheme earlier. They can now apply again. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 12 thousand is transferred directly to the bank account of eligible candidates. So that they can get toilets built in their house. This scheme is a big relief for poor families and economically weaker sections.

Essential Eligibility

  • Only those aged 18 years or above can apply.
  • No other member of the family should have availed this scheme earlier.
  • Only the families of poor and weaker sections will get the benefit of this scheme.
  • The income of the applicant’s family for 1 year should not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh.
  • ‘Those who already have a toilet in their house will not be eligible for this scheme.

How to apply under Free Toilet Scheme?

  • Go to the official website of Swachh Bharat Mission.
  • Click on the option of “SBM Registration” on the home page.
  • Now the registration form will open in front of you.
  • Fill all the required information correctly, such as name, address, Aadhaar number, bank account details etc.
  • Scan and upload all the required documents.
  • Confirm the application after submitting the form. You can also apply by visiting your nearest CSC (Central Public Service Center). After applying, the documents will be checked and if everything is found correct, the help amount of Rs 12 thousand will be sent to your bank account.
