PM Ujjwala Yojana: In Patna, the capital of Bihar, it has come to light that 4,540 beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana are experiencing difficulties in obtaining refills for their gas cylinders. This information was revealed by District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh during a review of the Kharif marketing season for 2024-25. Notices will be dispatched to those beneficiaries who fail to secure a refill, and if they do not comply even after receiving the notice, their registrations will be subject to cancellation. It is important to note that no registrations will be cancelled without prior notification.

The DM said…

During the recent review meeting concerning the Kharif marketing season, Dr. Singh expressed concern over the situation regarding the Ujjwala Yojana. The initiative aims to provide cooking gas to economically disadvantaged families, and the inability of these beneficiaries to obtain refills is troubling.

Notices to all affected beneficiaries

The District Magistrate has mandated that a resolution be sought for this issue. He has instructed the regional and sales managers of IOCL to issue notices to all affected beneficiaries, urging them to arrange for their gas cylinder refills. Should they neglect to do so after receiving the notice, their registrations will be at risk of cancellation.

No beneficiary’s registration will be cancelled without a formal notice

Dr. Singh has emphasized that no beneficiary’s registration will be cancelled without a formal notice. Each individual will be afforded the opportunity to respond to the notice. He reiterated that under the Ujjwala scheme, it is imperative that all consumers receive proper notification and that action will only be taken to cancel registrations if they continue to neglect the refill process after being duly informed.
