The state govt makes a big decision. Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in India, and it has a significantly higher number of girls compared to other states. The Yogi government is implementing various initiatives to support them.
Recently, the Yogi administration introduced a new program aimed at girls in UP. Under this initiative, the government will provide free scooters to eligible girls. Let’s take a look at who can benefit from this free scooter scheme.
This initiative is called the Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme, and the state has set aside a budget of Rs 400 crore for it. It specifically targets girls from rural areas, where many tend to drop out of school. This program aims to encourage them to continue their education.
The UP government will offer free scooters to girl students who achieve good marks in their class 12 exams, and this includes students from both the UP board and the CBSE board.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to build hostels for girls to further promote their education. These initiatives will benefit countless girls across the state. An official mentioned that in rural regions, a lot of girls leave school because they have to travel far. Providing scooties will make it easier for them to keep studying. Additionally, the Higher Education Department has allocated Rs 2 crore for scholarships through the Uttar Pradesh Government Scholarship Program. Each year, five bright girl students will have the opportunity to study overseas. This scholarship is aimed at those girls who show strong leadership skills.
