The NC-JCM, the primary union for central employees, has suggested a fitment factor of 3.833 to the 8th Pay Commission. If this suggestion is approved, the minimum salary of Rs 18,000 from the 7th Pay Commission could rise to Rs 69,000 under the 8th Pay Commission.

Numerous organizations such as AIDEF, FNPO, and AINPSEF concur with the NC-JCM and advocate for a 3.83 fitment factor. IRTSA has proposed a fitment factor of 5.0 for various levels.

According to AINSPEF National President Manjeet Singh Patel, considering the current dearness allowance and salary-related factors, it is probable that the 8th Pay Commission will adopt a fitment factor of 2.1. The minimum basic salaries for Levels 6, 7, and 8 under the 7th Pay Commission are Rs 35,400 for Level 6, Rs 44,900 for Level 7, and Rs 47,600 for Level 8.
