KKR's IPL 2025 playoffs hopes ended after their match vs RCB was washed out. BCCI's last-minute rule change left them frustrated.
KKR CEO Venky Mysore wrote a strong letter to BCCI, calling the mid-season rule change "inconsistent" and unfair.
Mysore argued that had the rule been announced earlier, KKR vs RCB could’ve had a 5-over game instead of a washout.
Two rain-affected matches cost KKR dearly, leaving them 6th with 12 points. The sudden rule shift hurt their playoff chances.
BCCI added 60 extra minutes for delayed matches. Games can now start as late as 9:30 PM without over reductions.
MI & DC could benefit from this rule. A rain-hit game at Wankhede might still allow a 5-over thriller near midnight.
Mysore called the decision "ad hoc," saying such inconsistencies damage IPL's credibility. KKR fans demand fairness.
