Candidates who appeared for the exam can download their UPTET Scorecard 2026 from the Commission’s official website. Reports indicate that 62,000 teachers were unsuccessful in the UPTET examination.

Exam held in three shifts across 60 districts
UPTET 2026 was organised between July 2 and July 4. The examination took place at 955 centres established across 60 districts of the state. Because so many candidates appeared for the exam, the Commission had to conduct the test in three shifts.

Of the 122,405 teachers who appeared for the UPTET primary level exam, 93,387 passed. Additionally, at the upper primary level, 113,384 out of 146,394 teachers passed. The pass percentage for teachers at the upper primary level was recorded at 77.45%.

Over 80 per cent of candidates were successful

A total of 713,648 candidates appeared for the primary level examination (for classes 1 to 5). Of these, 571,435 candidates have been declared successful. At this level, 80.07 per cent of the candidates passed the examination.

Lakhs of Candidates Qualify at the Upper Primary Level Too

A total of 1,057,021 candidates participated in the upper primary level examination conducted for Classes 6 to 8. Of these, 759,513 candidates were successful, resulting in a pass percentage of 71.85% at this level.

62,000 Teachers Fail

Existing teachers also appeared for the UPTET examination. Under court orders, it is now mandatory for incumbent teachers to pass the UPTET. Approximately 62,000 teachers failed the exam this time. After failing, teachers currently employed in schools may wonder whether they will lose their jobs. Teachers who failed the UPTET will be given another opportunity by the commission; they can retake the exam to improve their performance. Furthermore, they will not be removed from their jobs.
